Traditional Saudi Meal
We got to have a traditional Saudi meal last week! This restaurant also has a museum that we were able to walk through while waiting on our food to cook. We sat in a "reception" room when we first got there and had Arabic coffee, which is coffee flavored with cardamom. Then we ate in a private room with our group, where we were served family style and sat on the floor around a low table.
This man was making "pita" bread in the oven behind him. It was fun to watch the bread puff up in the brick oven, then he threw it in the basket on the right and we took it directly from there - while it was literally still too hot to hold!
